Thrifty Haul :: Part 1

I feel like all of my posts are about thrift hauls lately. Hi my name is Sarah, and I am a thrifting addict. I have renounced cooking, crafting, knitting and now all I do now is thrift. Welcome to my blog and be jealous of my scores, HA! (P.S. Totally kidding about that whole renouncing business).

Not only was all of this Pyrex, and Blue Heaven priced for a song...but I had so much stuff at the counter that I don't think that the girl working bothered to ring it all up. She quoted me a price and I practically skipped out the door.

Second Row: Two Early American Cinderella Mixing Bowls, 442 and 444, Two (not Pyrex) Blue Heaven Dinner Plates, One handled platter

I'm not a huge fan of the Early American pattern, but these were in such great shape, and reasonably priced, that I thought I would pick them up, if any of my Pyrex Love friends want to make a trade somewhere down the line.

I would love to show you more of my fun haul, but I have to get ready for my big night out. I'm going to see Andrew Bird with the super talented Abbie from Theodesign. I'm so excited!

Summer Thrifting

Here are some thrift scores that I've been meaning to share for some time. Most of these were purchased over a month ago, before and whilst I was on vacation.

Groovy retro-atomic glass, maker unknown:



A solid glass juicer, I've been coveting one of these for quite awhile!



I was *SO* excited over this next find...a flawless, lazy-susan appetizer caddy! My inner Donna Reed heart skipped a little beat when I found this. $4.99!



And...the piece de resistance...drum roll please...



A *FULL* set of Pyrex refrigerator dishes in the Butterprint pattern. My prrrreeeeeecious! I found these in an amazing vintage shop in Saratoga, New York. So much vintage goodness, it could make you weep. (And I almost did, when I made myself walk out of there with only two purchases!)

It's a little gross how excited I get about vintage dishes, isn't it?

I'll have more to show soon (clothing for once) - plus I'm thrifting with Abbie this weekend, wahoo!

Blog friends are the best! Pam of Gingerbread and Snowflakes sent me this sweet Daisy Cinderella Round Casserole after my recent casserole dish binge posts. I've been on a strict no thrifting for a month diet, since April 15th, and Pam's Pyrex arrived just in time to scratch a thrifting itch. Thanks for feeding the addiction Pam! (HAR HAR HAR HAR).

Pam also reminded me, via e-mail, that I hadn't posted the May Holiday Handmade Crusade theme here on my blog! I've been so busy it completely slipped me by. I can't believe it! The month is half over and I didn't make announcements! Silly me! I'll share that info with you promptly in the next post.

I've been going a little crazy with the thrifting lately. So crazy in fact, that I'm going on a diet. No more thrift shopping for me until May 15th. I swear. I even bypassed a community wide yard sale today. It was hard. I will be strong.
