Goodbye 2008, Hello 2009!

Happy New Year, everyone! I hope that you all had a great holiday. I just got back from my trip to New York/New Jersey last night and I'm puttering around the house until I have to return to work on Monday.
New York was amazing. Matt and I stayed in a little cabin on one of the smaller lakes in the Adirondack park with two of our friends. We did a whole lot of nothing, and that was just fine with me! I have a few photos to share that I'll upload over the next few days.
2008 was a roller coaster of a year, to be sure. There have been highs - like the exciting family additions of my nephew Aaron and my grand-niece Isabelle. And there have been lows - the gut-wrenching decision to leave my steady dance teaching job and not being able to find employment for over two months. I welcome 2009 with open arms, and am hoping that the clean slate of a new year will allow me to re-evaluate and focus on what I love.
For all of you that enjoyed the Christmas posts - tomorrow I will reveal something special for you. A new project for me, a little journey that we can take together, and I should mention; IT'S GOING TO BE FREAKIN' FUN!
Today I'm thankful for new beginnings. What are you thankful for today?
