Holy Hiatus - again

08-22-2006 flowers and knitting

So I come back with great news. Last week Jaime and I met up for the first time ever Portsmouth SnB! How many years have I been trying to get this going??? She is a super nice gal and she wrote a very funny post about our first meet up on her blog. We're meeting again tomorrow at Breaking New Grounds at 5:30. Come one, come all, knitta' please! - To the left is a very shady picture of a) my awesome gerber daisies that I bought the other night, and b) my new knitting project. I bought myself some gourmet yarn - $22 hank, yikes! - and I'm attempting to make socks for the first time. I cast on for Pomatomus from Knitty a few days ago and I'm loving the pattern thus far. Well, I wasn't loving it initially - I took it apart three times - and I am making a few loosely knit spots, but for my first attempt I'm a happy camper. I can't wait to work on them tomorrow!

My birthday is coming up next Monday and I have no idea what I'm going to be doing. I'm a complete lame-o. Work has been so exhausting lately because the theatre is so understaffed that all I want to do when I get home is crawl into bed. Aside from the new sock endeavor I haven't really made any progress on all of the projects that I have up in the air...Christmas prezzies... that damn dress that is finally finished being cut out. And that's just the fun stuff. I have soooooo much to do before work starts at BNE in the fall. I've been running from one meeting to the next it feels like, and it's great, but I just want to make sure that I put my all into this job. I really just want to do well.

Speaking of dance - check out OK Go on You Tube. Their music videos are amazing and I've included one for your enjoyment!
