Holy Hiatus

07-17-2006 magazine swap Wow, holy hiatus! I'll return with a very pleasant picture of my very pleasant package of goodies from Gemma for the Mag Swap. She spoiled me rotten! In addition to two lovely magazines, Country Homes and Stitch, she sent me "everything that I needed for a night of crafting." That included a package of tea, biscuits, organic chocolate with ginger pieces inside of it, (how did she know that ginger and chocolate are utter WEAKNESSES for me?!), and she didn't think that she could get a real teacup over without it being broken during the overseas voyage - so she made a darling tea cup pincushion for me. Sigh - what a satisfying and fun swap! Thanks Gemma!

I haven't been posting much because our laptop has been in the shop - and updating with my old desktop is like trying to make a bargain with the devil...Sarah: Okay Mr. Old Cranky Desktop, I won't use you for days if you don't explode whilst I'm trying to upload pictures to Flickr. Deal? Desktop: Hmmmm, hummmm, beep, boop, NOPE, self destruct in 3, 2, 1 KABOOM!.

The Etsy shop is making progress. I've sold three items! I'm literally so grateful for even that small amount of sales. I LOVE sending out packages to customers, and I just love the fact that people would actually buy something that I made. It's so...nice. I don't know. It just makes me feel really satisfied to think that someone else is enjoying something that I put tender love and care into with my own hands.

I've been purchasing a load of fun things lately. Hillary's brilliant pattern book and Stitchettes. Now she has little crafty stickers too, that I'm holding myself back on buying until I get some actual projects done. Also a book called Boxed-In Dollhouses by Betsy Pflug. It was published in 1971 and it's a project book on how to make dollhouse furniture and dollhouses from everyday items. I'll probably post a few of the pages on my Flickr account because the illustrations are kitschy and cool.
