Finish What You Have

In the spirt of Finish What You Have I've completed a project that I've had on my desk for a long time. The photos are crap, but this is a hangable, 3-D hot air balloon. I would ultimately like to sell these, but this is my first go at it and I think that there are improvements to be made. Although the colors are so beautiful and soft in person, like something from an Anthropologie catalogue. I really love the idea of giving new life to the people in the vintage photos. I always thing it's sad that you see piles of these people, who were once important to someone, at the thrift store. So I thought, hey, let's spice up their lives and get them out of the shoeboxes and into balloons!

When I come up with a system that I think is worthy to make these I think I'll use the photos in little editions, and name them, and maybe give a little certificate of authenticity to go with them, detailing where I bought the photo and anything that was written on it for identification. I also think that there are a few ways that I can embellish it to make it better, but for my first paper craft...I'm pretty proud of myself.

Also in progress is the Stitch and Bitch Nation Drop Stitch Vest. I'm just doing the seaming now. It's the first major piece of clothing that I've done for myself, and although I made a mistake, (or two or three), I think that I'm really going to love it. It was a bit monotonous to knit, but dropping the stitches at the end was good fun.

In other news...I'm getting married in 16 days! HOLY CRAP!
