Recent Craftiness and News

Hello all! No pictures in this post because my recent craftiness involves Matt's birthday present - he's turning 27 on Friday! - so here instead is a link to the handmade portion of his gift on posted on Craftster.

Such exciting news regarding the wedding dress. Last week I had a trauma regarding the wedding dress that partly inspired the blog break... I picked something untraditional, that I could afford, from the internet, and for the first time in my life because of lingering pregnancy weight this size M girl ordered an XL. It came in. It didn't fit. There were tears.

The shoes that matched said dress online looked adorable. Open toed pumped with punch holes and a hint of red on the toe. I thought I had scored. I opened the box and there before me were white patent sky high stripper shoes. I should have noticed while I was impulse clicking/buying that the company that made them was called Pleasers USA. I didn't. Was envisioning self walking down the grassy aisle sinking four inches with every step in my hooker shoes and a thong. Thought I would have to go naked to my own wedding.

But SUNLIGHT at the end of the tunnel! Our friend Zhana is a costumer. A good one. And she has agreed to make my dress. And she's not making any dress. She can make the dream dress! Swoonage. May have to marry Zhana instead of Matt as I am blissfully happy about this dressmaking arrangement.

I get married one month from yesterday! EEEEEEEP! (for planning) HURRRRAYYYYYY! (for me and Matt). We don't have our invites out yet - we are the procrastinators of the world. One of our friends told us the other day that people who sink a down payment on their wedding and spend a ridiculous amount of time planning for it have a higher ratio of divorce. If that's true than Matt and I are destined for the best marriage in history because we've barely lifted our fingers and are now realizing that we are screwed - insert raucous laughter here ________ . I love that man, and I'd marry him wearing a raincoat if I had to.

Good night all!
