Holiday Handmade Crusade :: November Theme!

Warm and Toasty!

Alright Holiday Crusaders, we are getting down to the line, and for many of us two things are becoming a precious commodity: TIME and WARMTH! Use this month to whip up some warmth inspiring gifts for those on your list. Think scarves, hats, mittens, blankets. All of these projects are quick and easy and will keep your friends and family warm and toasty!

Live in a warm climate? No worries...take some of these ideas and translate them into lighter, cooler fare. For example, instead of a wool knit scarf, make a silk dyed scarf.

And remember, my themes are just here for inspiration. Want to enter something else? Be my guest :)

Entries to be eligible for a raffle prize are due on November 30th by midnight EST

This month I'm ahead of the game with a little hat I whipped up for my nephew. My favorite teddy bear, Pookie, was kind enough to model for me...

I can't *WAIT* to slip this on Aaron's cute head! I've never put a pom-pom on anything, and I think I might be in love with the cuteness!

Just for fun, how would you interpret the theme 'warm and toasty'?

'Warm and toasty' definately involves hot chocolate to me! And possibly a Snuggie.

Warm and toasty always brings up a scene in my childhood when my sister and I came in from the cold and Mom had hot chocolate and buttered toast waiting for us next to a big fire in the fireplace. To this day heavily buttered toast and hot chocolate take me right back to that particular day - all warm and toasty!

The Bear says Pookie needs to post! He doesn't want to be the only blogging bear!

Very darling. Learning to knit is one of my goals for next year. I hope you had a great Halloween.
I signed up for the holiday ornament swap. Thanks for the tip.

I am ahead of the game this month! Three scarfs already done!

Any chance anyone has a hat pattern for a SIMPLE stockinette or garter stitch hat using #10 needles and 140 yards of super bulky yarn? This would be my official November project if someone could point me in the right direction. Remember - EASY - I am a beginner!
