Sneak Peek :: Living Room and Kitchen

Okay peeps. I know you've all been dying to see the new digs. I've been hesitating to put some pictures up, because honestly the majority of the place is still a disaster. There is no art on the walls, no curtains on the windows. But, I figured that I'd better get over my Design Spongey wannabe self and show you the state of things as is, otherwise, dear readers, I would never get around to showing you pictures!

So, here is the living room, viewed from the dining room door frame.

Living Room

Our hideous, yet kinda fabulous velour, 70's, quail hunter couch, which subsequently almost ruined our hallway coming into this apartment and is doomed to leave this apartment in PIECES the next time we move. (Which, is hopefully not soon).

Couch

My knitting/mending nook,

Knitting/Mending Nook

Our entertainment center! Yeah, IKEA! This one little piece of furniture is housing a five disc DVD player, a record player, two VCRs, a tape deck and a receiver. It's all in there NEATLY!!! (Please don't rob my house).

Media Center

Music on the left, movies and television on the right. Yeah...we're kinda mediaphiles. Ignore the messy dining room in the background - I will show you that later!

Wall o' Media

That's pretty much it for the living room. Let's move on to the kitchen, shall we?

Entering the kitchen

This is the view from the dining room door. I hate that dishwasher against the wall. It's ancient, a huge eye-sore, it rolls around and I haven't seen if it works. But, ah well. The best apartment ever has to have it's drawbacks I guess!

Kitchen Table

PYREX!!! (And Glasbake and Fire King) And that's not even all of it. Hi my name is Sarah and I'm a vintage bake ware addict.

Mmm Pyrex - and that's not all of it, HA!

I love that I have a light over the sink!

TA-DA!

That's it for now. We still have to finish up the bedroom, second bedroom, dining room, back porch and front porch. Oh yeah, and the bathroom, which isn't terribly exciting, but I'll photograph it at some point for kicks!

What do you guys think?

What a beautiful space! I love the hardwood floors, and the windows in the family room look so gorgeous. I am one of those people who loves molding around arches, doorways, etc. and it just looks gorgeous!

And all that Pyrex, that is a a treasure

Holy cow! I love the living room! Fab windows and terrific (jealous) wood floors! My s-i-l has that same couch...nuff said. The rolling dish washer? Well I had one back in the day and yes, it was funky to roll it over to the sink and hook it up every day, but in the end it was a life saver. You can always do like I did and toss it in the middle of the room now and then as an "island work space". ahem. A pantry and a huge (larger than my house) kitchen, great!

I seriously cannot wait to see how it will look for the holidays.

Awesome! I LOVE it! The floor, molding, cabinetry, light over the kitchen sink and PANTY. So cute. (Trying hard not to over use the !!!!!) I am loving your knitting/mending nook and the sweet lamp there, too.

I also want to congratulate you on your fabulous new job. I hope it is still fabulous?

Been away from most of blogland for a bit and it is so scrumptious delving back in, especially when there is such great goings on for you Sarah!

Looking forward to the fall photo shoot.

I think your new apartment is just totally full of potential! I especially like your sewing/mending nook!

As I was happily poking around in your kitchen, my mind asked the question - I wonder if she will show us where she has stashed her Pyrex collection! And the VERY NEXT photo - there it was!

Enjoy sifting and settling in.
