Here's something else that makes me happy...

I love it when friends come over with treasures from their mother's closets and say: "My mom was cleaning, we thought this was so you."

New to me vintage dress

Why yes, it is so me! Thank you, Allison (and Allison's mom).

The dress is vintage and handmade. It reminds me a bit of late 60's early 70's Pucci. I love the fabric! It's so Yellow Submarine-ish. I think that I'm going to shorten the hem to knee-length. I also think that a white patent leather belt is in order...and maybe some giant white sunglasses as well.

What do you think?

My 8th grade school dance theme was "Hawaii 5-O!" My mom made that exact dress, a Mumu. The collar was magenta velvet and the dress was a magenta with white and pink Hawaiian print. All the other girls wore dresses that were completely different and at first I felt weird going in a Mumu...until everyone LOVEd my dress and after the gym got to about 400 degrees, well my dress was perfect.

Thanks for bringing back a great memory form yes, 1970! I think it looks fab on you and can only imagine how much better you will tweak it!
