:::

I'm going to keep this Advent post a low-key one. Today was my Memere's funeral and it was, to put it mildly, a very difficult day. I cried so many, many tears today. I loved her so much. It is apparent to me, now more than ever, that Pepere and Memere were the glue of my family. The old wound of my Pepere's passing and this fresh cut of my Memere's have mixed to create a kind of hurt that is just indescribable. Now that they are both gone, it is the end of an era. Today, our collective grief was just immense.

I'm hoping that tomorrow will be a brighter day. Matt and I have fun things planned that I'm sure will make for more cheerful blog fodder!

Reading today's blog reminds me of how it felt to lose both my Great Grandfather and then my Great Grandmother! Thinking of you! I know it's hard!

I'm so sorry that you are in such a place of grief today. I hate the thought that it is an end of an era for you but I know exactly what you mean. I hope things start to look up for you soon.
