Alpaca - Somebody Bring Me a Drool Cup!

Seriously...

Mmm, Alpaca, drooly drool drool

This is the super pretty, super soft yarn that I mentioned briefly in Saturday's post. I purchased it at The Yarn Basket in Portsmouth. My visit there was the first since they moved their location and changed ownership, and it was a very happy visit. I had not visited the Yarn Basket in years, because I had a nasty experience with one of the staffers there. That, joyously, was not repeated this time around and I came home with two skeins of this awesome Baby Alpaca Brush from Plymouth Yarns.

For you fiber nerds out there, here are some specifics:

80% Baby Alpaca 20% Acrylic

50 grams 110 yards

Color 1725 Dye Lot 557

$7 Per Skein

I'm halfway through a pair of Toasty Fingerless Mitts that I'm making for my 14 year old niece Caitlin. I wanted something hip, but a little luxurious in the yarn department, and I think that these will fit the bill. If any of you knitters out there need a last minute gift pattern, oh boy is this ever it. It only took me two nights to get through the first mitt, and I'm sure that some of you probably knit faster than I do. It's a quickie and a goodie that's for sure!

Today I'm thankful for new beginnings. I started an exercise program today - we'll see if I can stick to it. I'm thankful for Suzi Blu and all of her glorious inspiring YouTube videos. I'm thankful for an amazing weekend OFF. What are you thankful for today?
