Marinating

Look I was actually crafty. I cut out the black fabric and made those yo-yos too! I'm the picture of productivity I tell you!

I'm marinating on these fabric combinations. They'll eventually become a small gift for a friend I'll be meeting in real life in a couple of weeks!

I'm excited about this, and I can't go into this too much right now, because I don't know how often she reads my blog, but this particular thing I'm making is inspired by something that she made. That one little thought has gotten me all excited about making things inspired by other people's work. Which doesn't sound all that revolutionary, but it IS to me - and I'm not copying or anything like that. The final product is going to have an entirely different function than the inspiration! I'm simply borrowing color suggestions and pattern.

Now I feel like I can zoom my eyes over my Flickr favorites and get fresh inspiration! Love that!
